Here's what customers are saying about Brook There organic lingerie and organic intimates....

I just wanted to let you know that the bra (which I'm wearing right now) is the MOST comfortable bra I have EVER had!

--------------

Absolutely perfect. These are incredibly cozy, a little bit sassy, and exactly what I wanted.

--------------

Thank you so much! I absolutely love this bra. I usually wear bras with padding and underwire, so I was concerned about support, but it's absolutely perfect. Plus it's pretty. I never want to take it off! Thank you, thank you :)

--------------

If I could, I would never buy underwear from anyone else. They fit perfectly and the cotton is the most comfortable thing I could think to make panties out of. Not to mention they are cute!

Just a quick note to say I'm still loving wearing your bras though I'm slowly wearing them out as I wear them so often (they are my favorites)....I'm sure I'll get another at some point in the future. Thanks for making such a great product.

--------------

I now have a set of 4 of the most comfortable, supportive and eco-friendly bras that I've ever worn. I so appreciate the time and attention that you put into these. They're so tailored that I may try to pass them off as bikini tops! I look forward to ordering more items from you in the very near future.

About Brook There Organic Clothing and Lingerie

brook there organic lingerie and loungewear is all about living in sensuous, organic, real comfort. all pieces are designed, cut, and sewn within a few miles of Portland, Maine.

My name is Brook, and I design the pieces you see here. I work with local sewers to produce the line, paying good rates, and focus my attention and business interests within the greater Portland community that I love.

The word "there" in the name brook there represents an other, idealized place- a fantasy, or a mystery.

I've been designing and sewing clothing since I was a child, and the line brook there emerged from my lifestyle- it's primarily organic, and made in small batches near my hometown. It's a line of comfortable sexy- everything is fitted, travels well between yoga and work, and with various additional layers (or heels) works perfectly for nights out.

Comfort is primary- confidence comes from being comfortable in one's skin and one's clothing- and confidence is the underpinning of beauty in every form.

Organic Bras, Organic Panties Washing and Care Directions

Every fabric I use is pre-washed and pre-dried, meaning that it is pre-shrunk. I recommend handwashing or gentle machine washing cold/ drip dry...though, to be honest, I wash all my own pieces in the machine, and tumble dry hot- and they hold up fine. Everything will last longer if you drip dry.

Organic is important: there are a few primary fabrics I use in the underwear and loungewear you see here, and I've chosen them for their wearability, texture, and ecological nature.

organic cotton jersey, milled in south carolina. This is a super soft, fairly dense and stretchy organic cotton jersey. The blend is 94% organic cotton, 6% spandex. It comes to me in an undyed cream shade. I dye it using low-eco-impact fiber-reactive dyes. These dyes are permanent, non-toxic, and give great color-fast shades. Always be sure to wash your garments with like colors, however!

organic cotton jersey, imported. This is the white organic cotton I use in select pieces- it's been whitened using low-impact methods, and is slightly lighter weight then the south carolina organic cotton. It's also 94% organic cotton, 6% spandex.

rayon from bamboo/ organic cotton blend, imported. This silky fabric is 66% rayon from bamboo, 30% organic cotton, 3% spandex. It's slightly lighter weight and silkier feeling than the primary organic cotton jersey, and has a subtle sheen. I currently use this fabric in all the black and silver pieces.

100% silk, imported. I love silk. There currently exists no organic certification for silk, but it is, by nature, a sustainable product, developed from readily renewable resources. Currently, I mostly use silk as a trim and for the eye masks.

90% silk, 10% spandex imported. This is the gorgeous bright silk I use as trims for the organic bras and panties. There currently exists no organic certification for silk, but it is, by nature, a sustainable product, developed from readily renewable resources.

trims: I use elastic trims to edge all the panties and bras- these are made from spandex, and are latex free. The feel is very, very soft and non-itchy. I buy laces in small batches, and most of these are nylon or polyester as well, unless otherwise identified.
